Part-Time Remote Communications Graphic Designer (Student)

Part-time remote graphic design role for a student creating digital, print, and motion content for Ohio Sea Grant. The work supports environmental research, education, and outreach throughout Ohio and the Great Lakes.

Description

  • Design promotional and recruitment assets, including email graphics, brochures, flyers, and materials for Stone Lab courses and programs
  • Produce educational displays and exhibits covering fisheries, invasive species, water quality, wetlands, and Great Lakes ecosystems
  • Revise publications in line with Ohio State brand guidelines and ADA accessibility practices
  • Create graphics and visual storytelling for social media, websites, digital communications, and outreach campaigns
  • Develop animations and motion graphics focused on scientific research and environmental subjects
  • Work with communicators, researchers, educators, and other creatives to turn complex research into engaging visual and multimedia content
  • Support the layout and design of fact sheets, posters, presentations, and other outreach materials
  • Convert multiple publications into ebooks

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a graphic design program is indicated by the role title and posting
  • Portfolio or three to five design samples
  • Resume
  • Cover letter
  • Familiarity with, or ability to apply, Ohio State brand guidelines and ADA accessibility practices
  • Ability to produce digital and print designs, animations, and motion graphics
  • Successful completion of a background check for finalists
  • A drug screen or physical examination may be required after an offer
