OT Platform and Cyber Engineer 2 - Onsite in Longmont

GE Vernova is seeking an onsite OT platform and cybersecurity engineer to modernize control systems for power generation facilities. The role covers HMI platforms, operational technology security, simulation, and generative AI-enabled enhancements.

Description

  • Assess and develop technologies for modern control room environments
  • Help design and develop controls and HMI platforms that support reliable power plant operations
  • Assist with designing and prototyping control system interfaces through simulation tools
  • Help implement security controls and operational technology security best practices
  • Collect and assess stakeholder feedback to guide controls, platform, and security enhancements
  • Develop documentation, templates, and standards that support customer operations
  • Identify opportunities to apply advanced technologies to control systems
  • Assess computing technologies for control system feature enhancements using generative AI
  • Contribute to next-generation control system development for power generation facilities
  • Support control system engineering, user interface design, and cybersecurity implementation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or another STEM discipline
  • 0–1 year of related engineering or STEM experience
  • Ability to work onsite in Longmont, Colorado; Greenville, South Carolina; Roanoke, Virginia; or Schenectady, New York
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
  • No current or future visa sponsorship is available
  • Experience with human-machine interface design and knowledge of programming, computer platforms and network devices, or cybersecurity
  • Interest in control systems, user interface design, operating systems and hypervisors, network architecture and devices, or cybersecurity
  • Awareness of large language models, small language models, and prompt engineering
  • Familiarity with zero-trust cybersecurity principles
  • Basic knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus and OPC UA, or SCADA systems
  • Familiarity with network device configuration, including switches and firewalls
  • Familiarity with design tools or security control principles
  • Awareness of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence
