Nurse Auditor – Florida Remote

Baptist Health is seeking a Nurse Auditor to review medical charges against clinical records and identify missed revenue. The role also supports standardized billing documentation, chargemaster updates, and clinical staff training.

Description

  • Blend clinical practice with education and leadership as a subject-matter expert in the relevant specialty.
  • Lead and complete concurrent, pre-bill, and retrospective audits comparing billed charges with medical records to uncover missed revenue.
  • Find charging improvement opportunities and investigate their underlying causes.
  • Partner with leadership to establish consistent charging and documentation standards.
  • Contribute to the department’s yearly chargemaster review.
  • Help educate clinical staff about chargemaster updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Active Registered Nurse license.
  • At least three years of clinical experience.
  • Four years of experience required for the position.
  • Experience with procedural coding, billing, and audits.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and rules governing billing to government payers is helpful.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • National certification in the relevant department specialty is preferred.
