NetApp Storage Architect – Chennai Hybrid

Lead enterprise NetApp storage architecture, modernization, governance, and technical escalation management for Kyndryl. Support mission-critical infrastructure across hybrid cloud environments.

Description

  • Set and govern enterprise NetApp storage standards, reference architectures, and design principles
  • Validate storage designs for infrastructure, cloud, application, and modernization initiatives
  • Guide storage modernization, cloud adoption, disaster recovery, ransomware protection, and hybrid cloud programs
  • Create enterprise storage roadmaps and strategic technology recommendations
  • Build governance frameworks, engineering standards, operational policies, and architecture review practices
  • Direct technical design reviews for deployments, migrations, platform upgrades, and technology refreshes
  • Use ASUP, EMS logs, Active IQ, performance analytics, and diagnostic data to troubleshoot advanced issues and assess storage health
  • Resolve complex challenges across ONTAP, WAFL, SnapMirror, MetroCluster, NAS, SAN, object storage, networking, and virtualization
  • Own vendor escalations through resolution and transfer knowledge to internal engineering teams
  • Assess new NetApp technologies, releases, architectural improvements, and strategic roadmap opportunities
  • Define lifecycle strategies and lead upgrades, technology refreshes, firmware planning, and capacity management
  • Improve performance, availability, resilience, operational efficiency, automation, and standardization
  • Produce architecture standards, governance materials, technical design guides, procedures, and runbooks
  • Facilitate architecture reviews, technical workshops, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing programs
  • Provide technical direction to infrastructure subject-matter experts, project architects, and support teams
  • Act as the required technical review authority before vendor engagement, approving escalations only after internal analysis

Requirements

  • At least 12 years of enterprise storage experience, including extensive NetApp expertise
  • Expertise in NetApp ONTAP architecture and enterprise storage platforms
  • Advanced understanding of NAS, SAN, object storage, and unified storage architectures
  • Strong knowledge of WAFL, Snapshot, SnapMirror, SnapVault, MetroCluster, SnapCenter, FlexClone, SVM, and Active IQ
  • Knowledge of Fibre Channel, FCoE, iSCSI, Ethernet, NVMe/TCP, NVMe/FC, multipathing, and storage network design
  • Experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization
  • Experience designing hybrid cloud environments across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP
  • Experience with Cloud Volumes ONTAP, Azure NetApp Files, Amazon FSx for ONTAP, and cloud-native storage integrations
  • Capability in enterprise performance tuning, workload analysis, capacity planning, and storage optimization
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, cyber resilience, ransomware protection, immutable snapshots, and storage security
  • Automation experience with Ansible, PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Experience with monitoring, analytics, AutoSupport, EMS, Active IQ, and enterprise observability platforms
  • Demonstrated leadership of enterprise architecture, governance, and strategic storage programs
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, vendor management, and executive communication abilities
  • Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical environments across multisite and hybrid cloud deployments
  • NCIE, NCDA, or equivalent certification is preferred
