Multi-State Associate Attorney – South Carolina Remote

Join a fully remote national law firm as a multi-state associate attorney handling Medicaid, litigation, probate, and guardianship matters. Lead case strategy, legal filings, client communications, hearings, and trials from intake through resolution.

Description

  • Manage assigned cases independently from initial intake through final resolution
  • Formulate and carry out legal strategies informed by factual investigation and legal analysis
  • Communicate substantively with courts, administrative agencies, clients, financial institutions, and opposing counsel
  • Prepare and review pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and security instruments
  • Represent the firm at hearings and trials when required
  • Handle matters involving Medicaid eligibility and reimbursement, administrative appeals, civil litigation, probate and estate claims, and guardianships
  • Partner with paralegals, centralized operations personnel, and the distributed legal team

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • At least three years of substantive legal practice experience
  • Active admission in at least two of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia; additional active bar admissions may be considered
  • Excellent written and verbal advocacy capabilities
  • Capacity to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a remote team
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and personal accountability
  • Persistent, resourceful, and proactive approach to solving problems
  • Confidence in taking ownership of outcomes from start to finish
  • Willingness to travel for in-person hearings, firm training and meetings, and other firm-sponsored events
  • Proficiency with Mac and Apple operating systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with timekeeping and case management platforms
  • Proficiency with legal research software
