Multi-State Associate Attorney – Remote U.S.

Represent clients in litigation, appeals, probate, guardianship, and Medicaid matters for a fully remote national law firm. Draft legal documents, advise clients, and manage cases across multiple jurisdictions.

Description

  • Manage cases independently from initial intake through resolution
  • Formulate and implement legal strategies grounded in factual investigation and legal analysis
  • Communicate substantively with courts, administrative agencies, clients, financial institutions, and opposing counsel
  • Prepare and review pleadings, motions, briefs, appellate filings, agreements, and security instruments
  • Represent the firm at hearings and trials when required
  • Handle Medicaid eligibility and reimbursement, administrative appeals, civil litigation, probate and estate claims, and guardianship matters
  • Contribute to onboarding, training, supervision, mentorship, firm meetings, trainings, and sponsored events
  • Maintain a regular Monday-to-Friday schedule aligned with the applicable U.S. time zone

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • At least three years of substantive legal experience
  • Active licensure in at least two of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia; additional active licenses will also be considered
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy abilities
  • Capacity to work independently and collaborate effectively with a remote team
  • Strong organization, time management, and personal accountability
  • Persistent, resourceful, and proactive approach to solving problems
  • Confidence in taking ownership of matters and outcomes from start to finish
  • Willingness to travel for in-person hearings, firm training and meetings, and other firm-sponsored events
  • Proficiency with Mac or Apple operating systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience using timekeeping and case management software
  • Proficiency with legal research applications
