Military Operations Analyst – Virginia Beach, VA

Support HII naval training and simulation programs as a Military Operations Analyst. Analyze fleet warfare requirements, interoperability, and Navy training environments.

Description

  • Analyze military command, control, communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, MTTP, force planning, and training exercises, and recommend solutions
  • Collaborate with user-community representatives throughout each development phase
  • Define requirements and assess potential alternatives
  • Support Modeling & Simulation initiatives for the Navy Training Baseline and Navy Continuous Training Environment
  • Convert prioritized requirements into detailed technical and simulation documentation
  • Create and maintain Measures of Performance and Measures of Effectiveness
  • Acquire knowledge of simulation models and work with subject-matter experts and software developers to evaluate fleet warfare capabilities
  • Support the integration and development of JSAF and other Navy, Joint, Service, and Agency training systems within NCTE
  • Review and track capability requirements from U.S. Navy and Joint training commands
  • Evaluate U.S., threat, and coalition technologies to support accurate joint and coalition interoperability
  • Help design distributed training architectures and integrate live, virtual, and constructive assets
  • Direct research and development efforts as assigned
  • Deliver instruction and provide training assistance when needed
  • Engage daily with customers and other subject-matter experts
  • Create training curricula and processes for publishing and sustaining releasable NTB simulation software and documentation

Requirements

  • Two years of relevant experience with a related bachelor’s degree, no experience with a related master’s degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent with six years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Candidates with uniquely specialized knowledge may have their work experience adjusted
  • On-site support is required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Military domain experience is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Operational knowledge of Naval C4I and Link systems is required
  • Recent U.S. Navy surface warfare combat systems experience is required
  • JSAF operational experience is preferred
  • Modeling and Simulation development experience is preferred
  • Able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces and environments with extreme temperature changes
