Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant

Description
- Lead discovery workshops and document current and future business processes.
- Prepare fit-gap assessments and Statements of Work.
- Configure Business Central companies, ledgers, subaccounts, posting rules, inventory, warehouses, lots, serials, projects, tasks, service orders, schedules, and security.
- Create queries, dashboards, KPIs, financial reports, import scenarios, and Report Designer layouts.
- Connect Business Central with OData and REST for Power BI and automation.
- Oversee data migration, including templates, data cleansing, and trial loads.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing.
- Train end users and administrators.
- Write standard operating procedures and runbooks.
- Support users after go-live and drive ongoing system improvements.
- Triage tickets and maintain a roadmap for enhancements.
- Work with Sales on project scoping and demonstrations.
- Coordinate with Product and Engineering on integration and reporting requirements.
- Manage implementations from discovery through hypercare.
- Establish best practices and guide clients.
- Work across Sales, Product, and Engineering to support client growth.
Requirements
- Bring 3–5 or more years of ERP implementation experience.
- Have 2–3 or more years of hands-on Business Central experience as a functional lead or senior consultant.
- Have led implementations and handled fit-gap analysis, scoping, and client training.
- Bring strong knowledge of financials.
- Have experience in at least one area: distribution, project accounting, or field service.
- Be comfortable creating queries, dashboards, reports, import scenarios, and Report Designer layouts.
- Have used OData or REST for analytics and automation.
- Be able to develop customizations and enhancements for Business Central.
- Bring strong stakeholder facilitation, documentation, and change management skills.
- Demonstrate ownership of projects.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation experience is an advantage.
- Microsoft BC Functional Consultant Associate certification is an advantage.
- Experience with Velixo or Excel reporting, Power BI, and Power Automate is an advantage.
- Experience in owner-led mid-market services, manufacturing, or distribution is an advantage.
