Manager / Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering

Lead electrical engineering for Evonik chemical investment projects from concept design through commissioning and handover. Coordinate vendors, multidisciplinary teams, safety, budgets, and travel between Jhagadia and Thane.

Description

  • Lead electrical engineering from conceptual design through commissioning and handover
  • Develop and review SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, routing, earthing, lightning protection, substations, and MCCs
  • Review and approve electrical equipment specifications and datasheets
  • Verify compliance with applicable standards, safety rules, and statutory requirements
  • Coordinate civil, mechanical, instrumentation, process, and automation engineering activities
  • Track project progress and assess technical and execution risks
  • Support project schedules, budgets, resource planning, and cost control
  • Contribute engineering expertise during project review meetings
  • Prepare technical specifications and perform bid evaluations and vendor assessments
  • Review vendor drawings, documentation, and manufacturing information
  • Work with suppliers to resolve technical and commercial matters
  • Oversee electrical testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning
  • Ensure electrical systems are energized and started safely
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues during execution
  • Uphold project quality standards and sound engineering practices
  • Strengthen safety culture and compliance with EHS requirements
  • Keep project documentation and records accurate and up to date

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the chemical industry
  • Substantial experience planning, executing, and commissioning greenfield projects
  • Extensive background in electrical system design, procurement support, project delivery, commissioning, and stakeholder management
  • Experience with HT/LT systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, and power distribution networks
  • Practical exposure to project commissioning and startup activities
  • Knowledge of Indian and international standards and applicable local statutory requirements
  • Willingness and ability to relocate
  • Ability to travel frequently between Thane and Jhagadia
  • Ability to work across EPC, industrial, and manufacturing projects
