Management Accountant
Manage accounts payable, VAT and month-end close at Fussy, a plastic-free personal care company. Help strengthen finance controls and automate processes as the business scales.
Description
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accuracy, timely delivery and effective controls
- Manage accounts payable, handling supplier queries, payment runs and statement reconciliations
- Administer company card and employee expenses, and prepare VAT returns
- Ensure finance policies are followed, transactions are coded correctly and deadlines are met
- Assist with month-end close by preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Work with the Financial Controller to investigate variances before leadership reporting
- Find and deliver opportunities to automate finance tasks and improve systems
- Keep finance processes and controls documented and up to date
- Respond to audit and year-end information requests
Requirements
- Sound knowledge of core accounting principles
- Qualified or part-qualified, ideally with ACCA, ACA, CIMA or AAT, or equivalent practical experience
- Demonstrated month-end close experience, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Clear understanding of the full accounts payable process
- Careful attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies
- Interest in automation and process improvement
- Experience with cloud accounting and accounts payable automation tools such as Xero, NetSuite or Dext is an advantage
- Experience in e-commerce, FMCG or consumer brands is an advantage
- Experience in a fast-growing scale-up is an advantage
