Lead Mainframe Product Developer, z/OS and Db2

Lead development of BMC’s critical Db2 products for z/OS, from design and delivery to client escalations. Guide developers while advancing BMC AMI Copy and Recover for Db2.

Description

  • Build, test, maintain, and deliver Db2 products and solutions using C, C++, HLASM, and related technologies.
  • Design and code complex Db2 product solutions, and resolve defects.
  • Develop design options and lead code and design reviews.
  • Assess how IBM Db2 changes affect BMC products.
  • Stay current on Db2, mainframe environments, industry developments, and related software technologies.
  • Work with global clients to resolve complex product issues and escalations.
  • Mentor developers and provide technical direction to the team.
  • Advance BMC AMI Copy for Db2 and BMC AMI Recover for Db2 within the Intelligent z Optimization & Transformation group.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years working in z/OS environments, including knowledge of z/OS architecture and logic, Db2 internals, and z/OS internals.
  • At least 10 years of IBM coding and development experience, including extensive system-level work in C and C++.
  • Working knowledge of HLASM, CLIST, and JCL.
  • Substantial experience with JES2.
  • Experience in IBM mainframe environments using TSO/ISPF, JCL, Db2, and VSAM.
  • Experience analyzing system dumps with IPCS, XDC, or comparable tools.
  • Experience writing code that uses low-level operating system functions.
  • Ability to turn business requirements into functional designs or specifications.
  • Deep experience diagnosing complex application and system problems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Must be able to work remotely from the United States or Canada.
  • BMC cannot provide visa sponsorship.
