Lead AI Engineer – Wells Fargo (Hybrid)
Lead enterprise AI and cloud modernization initiatives for Wells Fargo’s commercial and investment banking technology systems. This hybrid role supports teams across Boston and Charlotte through generative AI engineering and scalable cloud solutions.
Description
- Drive complex technology programs, including enterprise-wide initiatives with broad organizational impact.
- Establish engineering standards and company-wide practices for complex, large-scale technology solutions.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and document business solutions with modern software engineering automation tools.
- Evaluate large-scale technology solutions against strategic technical and business objectives.
- Shape team practices through technical leadership, influence, and mentorship.
- Work with technical specialists, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve challenging technical issues and deliver shared objectives.
- Collaborate with Wells Fargo teams and senior leaders to support technology goals.
- Design, advise on, and maintain cloud solutions optimized for availability, scalability, performance, and cost.
- Help move CCIBT applications and systems to the cloud using generative AI SDLC and software engineering practices.
- Support the professional development and growth of colleagues.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience or equivalent experience gained through work, training, military service, or education.
- At least 5 years of experience using modern software engineering stacks, including Java and Python.
- At least 3 years of experience developing and deploying cloud applications and infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud.
- At least 1 year of experience with AI software development life cycle practices and automation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Devin, Cursor, or Claude Code.
- At least 3 years of experience applying architecture, systems, and code-level design patterns to cloud solutions.
- Experience using cloud security management or governance tools.
- Ability to influence, collaborate with, and negotiate with senior business leaders.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and business audiences.
- Strategic perspective on project outcomes and opportunities to create value across Wells Fargo.
- Strong delivery orientation and readiness to work in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
