Java Application Engineer — Taipei, On-site
Develop Java applications for Atos, a global digital transformation and digital services company. Build payment and banking solutions using Java, Spring, REST APIs, databases, and web frameworks.
Description
- Build and maintain Java applications.
- Use object-oriented software development practices.
- Develop with Java, Spring, APIs, REST services, and JUnit.
- Work with SQL, Oracle, or comparable database technologies.
- Use engineering tools such as IDEs, debuggers, GitLab, Git, Maven, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Carry out unit and integration testing.
- Work in Linux environments, including shell scripting and software packaging.
- Follow agile software development methods.
- Use web front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
- Collaborate in a fast-paced team and communicate with English- and Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, telecommunications, engineering, IT, or a related field.
- At least three years of professional Java application development experience.
- Payment card, digital payment, or banking industry experience is an advantage.
- Experience with object-oriented software development.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring, APIs, REST services, and JUnit.
- Experience with SQL, Oracle, or similar database technologies.
- Experience using IDEs, debuggers, version control, GitLab, Git, Maven, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Experience with unit and integration testing.
- Linux, shell scripting, and software packaging experience is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Good written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Good understanding of agile software development methods.
- Experience with a web front-end framework such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
