IT Infrastructure Engineer (Windows, Active Directory & VMware) – Spain Remote

Maintain Windows, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization infrastructure for PSI CRO AG’s global clinical-trial operations. Support the technology environment of this pharmaceutical contract research organization.

Description

  • Design, implement, maintain, and enhance Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Administer virtualization, storage, and backup platforms.
  • Manage Windows Active Directory and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
  • Support enterprise applications and services running on Windows and Linux, including email and business systems.
  • Operate monitoring, patching, configuration management, and access control services.
  • Plan and deliver operating system patches and infrastructure upgrades in line with company policies.
  • Lead small and medium infrastructure projects while contributing to larger initiatives.
  • Qualify, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure systems for performance.
  • Maintain records of infrastructure assets, warranties, and associated services.
  • Coordinate infrastructure vendors, including deliveries, contracts, and vendor activities.
  • Create and update technical documentation, procedures, and system standards.
  • Work with Network & Connectivity and Cloud & Modern Workplace teams on cross-domain initiatives.

Requirements

  • University degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong practical experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Experience administering Windows and/or Linux servers.
  • Experience with enterprise infrastructure services, including PKI and email/MTA technologies.
  • Practical experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, patch management, and configuration management.
  • Ability to diagnose complex infrastructure issues and produce detailed technical documentation.
  • Experience with VMware, Proxmox, or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with Azure Arc and Azure Update Manager.
  • Experience with Zabbix or another infrastructure monitoring platform.
  • Experience with PowerShell or another scripting language and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Sendmail, or Postfix.
  • Experience with Veeam or comparable backup technologies.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, change management, qualification, and validation processes.
  • Relevant Microsoft, virtualization, Linux, or other infrastructure certifications.
