Senior Operations Engineer - Seville Hybrid
Senior Operations Engineer responsible for VMware infrastructure, systems administration, virtualization, automation, and VDI environments at Consultia IT. The role covers infrastructure support, storage, GPU solutions, container platforms, and operational reliability.
Description
- Design and implement VMware infrastructure, including host, cluster, and network configuration decisions.
- Optimize infrastructure resources to support high availability, strong performance, and cost efficiency.
- Manage the full virtual machine lifecycle, from provisioning and configuration through monitoring, patching, scaling, and retirement.
- Administer Linux and Windows systems, including installation, configuration, hardening, automation, patching, and incident resolution.
- Manage Active Directory environments, including domain controllers, organizational units, group policies, authentication, authorization, and tiering models.
- Provide project-level technical support.
- Help define technical requirements and produce supporting documentation.
- Coordinate change windows and resolve operational incidents.
- Administer NetApp storage, including volumes, SVMs, snapshots, replication, and performance optimization.
- Manage devices through Microsoft Intune.
- Develop, test, and maintain playbooks and roles in Ansible Automation Platform.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration drift remediation, and operational tasks.
- Deploy virtual machines in VDI environments using VMware Horizon.
- Create and publish desktops and applications, optimize images, and maintain end-user access.
- Manage and configure GPU-based solutions.
- Allocate and optimize resources, monitor environments, plan capacity, and resolve incidents.
- Deploy and administer container environments using Docker or Podman.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with VMware infrastructure, virtualization, and systems administration.
- At least 10 years of experience with VMware and infrastructure architecture.
- At least 10 years of experience managing the virtual machine lifecycle.
- At least 10 years of experience administering Linux and Windows systems.
- At least 5 years of experience with Active Directory.
- At least 10 years of experience providing project-level technical support.
- At least 5 years of experience administering NetApp storage.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune.
- Experience with Ansible Automation Platform.
- Experience deploying virtual machines in VDI environments using VMware Horizon.
- Experience managing GPU-based solutions.
- Experience managing containers with Docker or Podman.
- Residence in Seville or nearby areas.
- Availability to work on-site two days per week.
- A current ITIL Foundation certificate is required; it may be obtained within a maximum of six months after the contract start date.
