On-Site Accounting Manager in Tijuana

Lead financial reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, and audits for a Mexican HR and payroll software company. Manage an eight-person accounting team.

Description

  • Maintain complete, accurate financial records and deliver timely accounting closes.
  • Plan and oversee tax compliance with Mexico’s SAT and other government authorities.
  • Build, monitor, and strengthen internal control systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement across departmental processes.
  • Lead the performance, development plans, coordination, and daily activities of eight team members.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external audits and coordinate audit processes with established firms.

Requirements

  • Completed bachelor’s degree and professional qualification in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related business discipline; incomplete studies are not accepted.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in general accounting, including team leadership and annual and monthly financial close processes.
  • At least five years of experience leading or coordinating external audits, preferably with Big Four or comparable firms.
  • At least five years of experience using ERP or CRM systems, advanced Excel, and Power BI for financial reporting.
  • Advanced practical knowledge of treasury administration, cash flow, financial planning, Mexico’s current tax frameworks, and risk management.
  • Resilience, emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced English proficiency at the B2 level.
  • Experience in manufacturing, mass distribution, or retail is preferred.
  • Experience automating financial processes with advanced macros or predictive dashboards is preferred.
