iOS Software Engineer — Garmin Cluj, Cluj-Napoca (Hybrid)
Build Garmin’s ActiveCaptain and STRIKER Cast marine apps, creating navigation, boat-control, and GPS sonar features. Work across the full product lifecycle in an end-to-end iOS development environment.
Description
- Assess complex assignments for technical soundness, completeness, and accuracy
- Apply established standards and procedures effectively
- Enhance existing software with limited guidance from colleagues
- Coordinate priorities across concurrent projects while meeting deadlines accurately and consistently
- Work constructively and professionally with Garmin colleagues in a team setting
- Use sound discretion, judgment, and decision-making in daily work
- Provide the supervisor with clear updates on work progress
- Own features for Marine initiatives across the apps
- Design and build new components for the Marine ecosystem
- Develop ActiveCaptain and STRIKER Cast products through the complete product development lifecycle
Requirements
- Strong command of Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Xcode, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
- At least 3 years of professional iOS development experience
- Able to solve problems and develop solutions independently or as part of a small team
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Professional proficiency in English
- Experience leading small projects, accepting broader responsibilities, or serving as a team contact is an advantage
- Bluetooth or BLE stack experience is an advantage
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies is an advantage
- Knowledge of Objective-C, Android, or C++ is an advantage
