ICT Infrastructure Architect, Hyperscale Data Centers
Designing fiber plants and optical networks for FluidStack’s hyperscale AI data centers. Converting logical port maps into scalable physical cabling architectures.
Description
- Lead the end-to-end physical delivery of data center networks across hyperscale sites
- Design fiber plants, plan transceivers, and incorporate structured cabling systems
- Partner with CSA, MEP, and construction teams on power, cooling, space, pathways, cabinets, and racks
- Create, review, and interpret construction drawings using Bluebeam, ACC, and Procore
- Convert DCN logical port maps for TOR, spine, super-spine, and DCI networks into physical cross-connect and patching schedules
- Automate port-to-fiber assignments for sites exceeding 100,000 ports
- Establish cassette configurations, trunk quantities, and structured cabling hierarchies
- Forecast fiber utilization and overbuild requirements across two to three hardware generations
- Choose optics according to reach requirements and loss budgets
- Verify interoperability across equipment vendors and hardware generations
- Maintain link-specific loss-budget and margin models
- Own the ICT Basis of Design, SOPs, and Division 26/27/28/33 master specifications
- Connect designs with DCIM systems to monitor strands, ports, and patching
Requirements
- Experience designing hyperscale or cloud-provider data center networks supporting more than 1,000 racks and 100,000 fiber strands
- Advanced knowledge of structured cabling systems, including Corning, Panduit, CommScope, and MPO/MTP ecosystems
- Thorough understanding of optical standards such as IEEE 802.3 and OIF
- Thorough understanding of 400G/800G DR4, FR4, LR4, and SR8 transceiver technologies
- Strong command of fiber loss budgets, dispersion, and testing methods including OTDR, insertion loss, and polarity verification
- Experience incorporating designs into DCIM platforms such as NetBox, Remedy, or comparable hyperscaler systems
- RCDD certification, coherent DCI experience, and multi-generation optics roadmapping are advantageous
