Harris Computer Corporate Counsel – Healthcare (Remote)

Advise Harris Healthcare’s U.S. software businesses on commercial contracting, HIPAA, privacy, and related transactions. Negotiate agreements and counsel business units in a remote role.

Description

  • Manage legal matters for assigned Harris Healthcare business units
  • Draft, review, and negotiate customer and vendor commercial agreements
  • Handle license, reseller, services, technology development, and confidentiality agreements
  • Structure, draft, review, negotiate, and close corporate and commercial transactions according to experience
  • Develop and maintain standard agreement templates
  • Partner with Legal & Compliance and cross-functional teams
  • Assess business needs and provide practical guidance to internal clients
  • Represent Harris Healthcare units in dealings with customers, vendors, and partners
  • Coordinate with external counsel on negotiations and dispute resolution
  • Support other assigned legal matters
  • Monitor regulatory developments and proactively assess emerging legal trends and risks

Requirements

  • At least four years of experience with a reputable law firm or company
  • Strong understanding of legal issues involving technology contracts, software licensing, and U.S. healthcare law, including HIPAA
  • Knowledge of U.S. healthcare, data privacy, and information security laws
  • Experience reviewing and drafting technology and software license agreements
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Sound professional judgment
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to communicate legal advice and analysis clearly and concisely in writing and verbally
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, issues, and projects at the same time
  • Juris Doctor degree required
  • Active membership in good standing with a state bar required
  • International contracting experience and knowledge of GDPR, UK, or other international privacy laws are advantageous
  • International medical device regulatory or contracting experience is advantageous
  • Familiarity with CCPA and other state privacy and breach-notification laws is advantageous
