Mecka
Mecka

Mecka builds infrastructure for Physical AI, helping robotics and embodied-AI teams turn real-world human activity into systems that can learn, be evaluated, and operate reliably outside the lab. Its Egoverse platform combines large-scale egocentric datasets with telemetry across vision, depth, tactile sensing, motion, and localization.

Through developer tools, APIs, and enterprise services, Mecka supports the evaluation and deployment of task-specific robotic systems. The company works with hardware OEMs, model developers, and commercial partners, providing the data and operational layer for robotics without manufacturing robots itself.

Hardware Electronics Engineer, Robotics Sensors

Design camera electronics and wearable sensors that help Mecka AI’s robots learn from physical experience. Take hardware from prototype through validation and production, improving reliability along the way.

Description

  • Develop electronics and sensing systems that help robots learn from physical experience.
  • Create camera electronics and wearable sensors for data capture.
  • Lead work from circuit design and initial power-on through measurement, validation, and production.
  • Design circuits, schematics, and PCB layouts for capture devices and wearable sensing systems.
  • Bring up hardware and diagnose faults.
  • Choose and integrate commercial sensors or develop new sensing approaches.
  • Build prototypes and test fixtures.
  • Measure noise, sensitivity, drift, and repeatability.
  • Create calibration and signal-processing methods for reliable measurements.
  • Work with firmware and mechanical engineers to validate power, timing, synchronization, and sensor performance.
  • Move designs into production with suppliers.
  • Use test results and field failures to improve reliability and manufacturing consistency.

Requirements

  • At least three years of professional experience designing electronics hardware, including schematic and PCB design and hands-on board bring-up.
  • Hands-on experience with circuit design, PCB development, and board bring-up using tools such as Altium or KiCad.
  • Strong grounding in analog and digital electronics, power supplies, grounding, decoupling, and sensor interfaces.
  • Practical debugging and prototyping experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, lab power supplies, and soldering or rework tools.
  • Ability to design controlled experiments, separate signal from noise and measurement error, and analyze results in Python or a similar language.
  • Demonstrated experience taking a prototype through rigorous testing and resolving issues across electronics, firmware, and mechanical integration.
  • Clear documentation of designs, measurements, and decisions.
  • For the Camera SoC specialization, experience owning a complete SoC-based camera or embedded vision board from component selection through validation.
  • Experience with DDR or LPDDR memory, MIPI CSI-2, storage, USB 3 or PCIe, power management, and sequencing.
  • Ability to define PCB stack-up, impedance, routing, grounding, and decoupling constraints.
  • Ability to debug boot, memory, clocks, resets, and camera links with firmware engineers.
  • Preferred: experience with tactile, force, pressure, or other wearable sensors.
  • Preferred: experience with flexible circuits, EMC, wireless or battery-powered devices, or production testing and calibration.

Benefits

  • Equity.
  • Health and wellness benefits.
  • Additional company programs.
  • An inclusive and supportive candidate experience.
  • Interview accommodations are available.
  • Equal treatment and opportunity in recruitment, selection, and employment.
