Groundwater Modeling and Environmental Data Consultant - ERM

Support ERM’s European environmental and water-resource projects through groundwater modeling, hydrogeological data management, remediation assessments, and client reporting.

Description

  • Build, calibrate, and interpret groundwater flow and contaminant transport models
  • Oversee the analysis and validation of hydrogeological and environmental datasets
  • Assist with site investigations, remediation programs, and groundwater assessments
  • Produce technical reports, model records, and other client-facing deliverables
  • Incorporate environmental monitoring results into databases and visualization platforms
  • Work with specialists across hydrogeology, remediation, risk assessment, and environmental engineering
  • Contribute to client presentations, project planning, and delivery activities
  • Maintain data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
  • Support complex environmental and water-resource assignments for industrial, infrastructure, energy, and public-sector clients across Europe

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in hydrogeology, geosciences, environmental engineering, water resources, environmental science, or a related field
  • Bring at least two years of professional experience in groundwater modeling, hydrogeological assessment, environmental data management, or a comparable area
  • Have experience using groundwater modeling tools such as MODFLOW, FEFLOW, Visual MODFLOW, or equivalent software
  • Demonstrate strong capability in environmental data analysis and management
  • Experience with GIS applications such as ArcGIS or QGIS is an advantage
  • Be familiar with environmental databases, data visualization, and reporting applications
  • Apply strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Communicate fluently in written and spoken German and English
  • Work effectively as part of multidisciplinary and international teams
  • Have experience supporting contaminated-site investigations and remediation work
  • Understand European groundwater and environmental regulations
  • Have experience with programming or scripting tools including Python, R, or SQL
  • Understand environmental monitoring programs and data governance practices
