Description

  • Lead diverse technology projects and a developer team building distributed microservices and full-stack systems that meet regulatory requirements
  • Track emerging technologies, test new tools, engage with engineering communities, and mentor fellow engineers
  • Work with digital product managers to deliver resilient cloud solutions that support millions of Americans’ financial empowerment
  • Build and support solutions using Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, open-source relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services
  • Provide technical direction across Agile teams while establishing standards for design, development, and operational excellence
  • Collaborate with architects on service boundaries, integration approaches, and reusable frameworks
  • Find opportunities for refactoring and improvement, reduce technical debt, and optimize system performance
  • Help shape long-term technology strategy by assessing emerging tools and practices in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative discipline, such as statistics, economics, operations research, analytics, mathematics, or engineering
  • At least four years of software engineering experience, excluding internships
  • At least two years of experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, cloud productivity tools, or virtualization technologies
  • New applicants are not eligible for employer immigration sponsorship or immigration-related support
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in computer science or a related field
  • Preferred: Seven or more years of coding experience with at least two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala
  • Preferred: Three or more years of experience with databases and database management systems
  • Preferred: Three or more years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, cloud productivity tools, or virtualization technologies
  • Preferred: Four or more years of contributing to open-source frameworks
  • Preferred: Three or more years of experience with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks
  • Preferred: Four or more years of experience building synchronous and asynchronous APIs
  • Preferred: Three or more years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing frameworks
  • Preferred: Three or more years of experience using Git-based version control
  • Preferred: Three or more years of troubleshooting technical issues in cloud environments
  • Preferred: Experience using modern AI coding tools and IDE copilots
  • Preferred: At least one year of mentoring engineers and supporting professional development within technical teams
  • Preferred: At least one year of using observability to locate and optimize performance bottlenecks in distributed systems
  • Preferred: Experience with interactive AI tools beyond basic code completion
  • Preferred: Experience leading cross-functional engineering work or large-scale technical initiatives
  • Preferred: Experience defining and enforcing coding standards and design patterns across teams
