Full Stack Developer (Remote, United States)

Build secure ERAS Platform capabilities for Koniag Government Services’ federal modernization initiatives. Develop tested, accessible Python, JavaScript, and React or Ember applications.

Description

  • Develop and maintain ERAS Platform features and functionality
  • Create backend APIs with Python, Ruby, or JavaScript on cloud.gov
  • Build frontend web applications with JavaScript or TypeScript and React or Ember.js
  • Maintain automated tests and achieve at least 90% code coverage each sprint
  • Deliver code with no linting errors or warnings under MDN Web Developer Guides
  • Implement features that meet WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA accessibility standards
  • Contribute to Salesforce development work when needed
  • Take part in code reviews and apply OWASP and US-CERT secure coding practices
  • Integrate with USDA mission systems through RESTful APIs
  • Maintain and revise deployment scripts and configurations
  • Prepare sprint documentation, inline code documentation, and system diagrams
  • Support a federal client’s business and information technology modernization project

Requirements

  • Eligible to obtain a Public Trust
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may substitute
  • Three to five years of software development experience with demonstrated frontend and backend proficiency
  • Proficiency in at least one modern backend language: Python, Ruby, or JavaScript
  • Experience using frontend frameworks such as React or Ember.js
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices development
  • Understanding of agile development methods and sprint-based delivery
  • Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements
  • Experience with GitHub for version control
  • Experience working on agile teams with recurring sprint deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to write unit tests and achieve strong test coverage
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and Section 508 compliance for web applications
