Financial Controller — Sokin, New York (Hybrid)

Description

  • Review journal entries with the bookkeeping team to help ensure timely and accurate transaction recording
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany balances, and fixed assets
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial close activities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and support statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and, where applicable, US GAAP
  • Help produce regulatory capital reports and associated regulatory returns
  • Support VAT, payroll, and other statutory filings
  • Compile audit schedules and supporting evidence, then address auditor questions
  • Maintain and enhance scalable financial control processes
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Improve and automate finance workflows
  • Work with finance, risk, and operations teams to maintain accurate management, statutory, and regulatory reporting

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, or ACCA) with at least two years of post-qualification experience
  • Professional background in business services, audit, or corporate accounting
  • Strong grasp of financial accounting principles, statutory reporting, and control frameworks
  • Experience preparing or supporting consolidated accounts and management reporting
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms; NetSuite experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of, or exposure to, US tax, LATAM accounting regulations, and international reporting standards is advantageous
  • Advanced Excel capability, including data manipulation and analysis
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Clear communicator who can collaborate with global teams and functions
  • Proactive and well organised, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced international setting
  • Eligibility to work in the jurisdiction where you are applying
