Finance and Accounting Manager — United States Remote

Lead treasury, accounting, financial controls, reporting, tax, and consolidation activities for WaterConnect’s water infrastructure investment platform. Partner with Water.org’s finance team on consolidated financial operations.

Description

  • Manage bank accounts and payment activity covering vendors, projects, intercompany transactions, payroll, and reimbursements
  • Monitor liquidity, reserve levels, cash flow, and financial forecasts
  • Maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and tax advisors
  • Produce financial reports and forecasts for management, the parent company, and governing bodies
  • Oversee daily accounting and period-end close activities with a third-party accounting provider
  • Develop and maintain finance procedures and accounting controls, including project expense capitalization
  • Coordinate finance activities with the parent company, including consolidation work
  • Prepare annual tax returns and maintain compliance with relevant accounting and tax requirements
  • Assist with the annual external audit and provide requested documentation and responses
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances to support reliable consolidation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • At least five years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including treasury, financial reporting, and close management
  • A professional accounting designation such as CPA, CMA, CA, or ACCA, or comparable demonstrated expertise
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS, with experience supporting multi-entity or parent-subsidiary consolidation
  • Experience managing banking relationships, treasury functions, and liquidity or cash management
  • Experience collaborating with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies, including familiarity with international tax compliance
  • Proven ability to establish, implement, and enforce accounting procedures and internal controls
  • Proficiency with accounting software or ERP platforms and advanced Excel capability
  • Independent, detail-focused, and comfortable working hands-on within a small virtual team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across global, multicultural teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to social and environmental impact
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English
  • Residence in the Eastern or Central time zone
  • Ability to meet physical requirements that include extended sitting and reaching, along with seeing, speaking, and hearing
