Field Technical Representative, Southern Region (Onsite)

Provide field-based coatings expertise, specification support, and product training across Benjamin Moore’s Southern Market sales territory. Partner with retailers, architects, designers, and national accounts.

Description

  • Deliver technical support in the assigned geographic territory
  • Perform site assessments and prepare technical specifications and proposals
  • Provide additional technical specification assistance as required
  • Address significant complaints and customer issues
  • Sell architectural and industrial coatings through and outside distribution channels
  • Assist regional sales and training leaders with product training and application sessions
  • Help architectural representatives and specification writers develop complex specifications, deliver continuing education, and train architects and designers
  • Provide national account teams with technical guidance, specification support, and local prospecting assistance
  • Serve the Southern Market territory

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Seven to ten years of business-to-business paint and coatings sales experience
  • Understanding of architectural and industrial coatings, market conditions, and application best practices
  • NACE certification completed or currently in progress
  • Proficiency in writing product specifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Strong communication, listening, and presentation abilities
  • Capacity to assess situations and recognize barriers and opportunities
  • Proven problem-solving, time-management, negotiation, and complaint-resolution skills
  • Exceptional relationship-building and collaborative teamwork abilities
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends when needed
  • Willingness to travel overnight for meetings, conferences, and trade shows
  • Residence in the target geography or willingness to relocate
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 50% within the coverage area
  • Spanish fluency is preferred but not required
  • Residence within a reasonable commute of the Orlando, Florida, or Lewisville, Texas facility
