E&S Underwriting Assistant (Remote)

Support specialty insurance underwriting at Ledgebrook, an AI-native insurance platform. Manage broker submissions, documentation, and transactions across Property, Inland Marine, and Builder’s Risk.

Description

  • Support E&S underwriting activities across multiple business lines and coverage types.
  • Oversee submission workflows by checking completeness and coordinating account clearance and setup.
  • Triage submissions against underwriting appetites and established guidelines.
  • Help underwriters assess eligibility and prioritize opportunities.
  • Gather necessary information from brokers.
  • Organize and maintain underwriting files and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate transactions with other underwriting support teams.
  • Work with underwriters and wholesale trading partners by phone, virtually, or in person, handling transactions independently or with limited direction.
  • Help develop a profitable E&S book across growing lines and coverage areas.

Requirements

  • Previous general or technical E&S underwriting support experience across multiple lines and coverage types.
  • Experience managing submissions, including completeness reviews and account clearance or setup coordination.
  • Working knowledge of basic underwriting data analysis for submission triage, eligibility assessment, and opportunity prioritization.
  • Ability to collect broker information, maintain organized files, and coordinate transactions with other underwriting support resources.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing projects, focus on priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with company appetites and delegated underwriting authority.
  • Experience supporting Inland Marine, Builder’s Risk, or Property underwriting.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
