Epic EHR Advisory Services Consultant

Advise partner organizations on Epic EHR configuration supporting Wellvana’s value-based healthcare programs. Build Healthy Planet, quality, risk-adjustment, and reusable Epic workflow solutions.

Description

  • Act as Wellvana’s Epic subject matter expert for partner organizations
  • Guide clinical, operational, and IT leaders on Epic configuration for value-based care
  • Assess partner Epic environments and deliver findings with phased optimization roadmaps
  • Design, build, test, and validate workflows using Express Lanes, SmartSets, SmartPhrases, SmartLinks, flowsheets, questionnaires, and navigator sections
  • Improve Annual Wellness Visit scheduling, outreach, pre-visit processes, documentation, charge capture, and diagnosis capture
  • Configure Healthy Planet registries, health maintenance topics, care gaps, patient lists, BPAs, Reporting Workbench content, and dashboards
  • Convert HCC and clinical documentation requirements into practical EHR tools
  • Develop reusable build guides, configuration specifications, workflow documentation, training materials, and Epic turbocharger-style packages
  • Train and support partner providers, care teams, analysts, and super-users
  • Collaborate with interoperability, population health, quality, coding, and clinical teams
  • Present technical recommendations and business impact to clinical, technical, and executive stakeholders
  • Define intake, prioritization, delivery, change-control, service-tier, and measurement standards for the new function
  • Measure performance before and after engagements and report service impact
  • Maintain Epic certifications and follow Epic roadmap, Foundation System, and CMS program updates

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Active Epic Healthy Planet certification
  • Active EpicCare Ambulatory certification
  • Active Epic ClinDoc certification
  • Epic Compass Rose, Cheers, Cogito/Reporting Workbench, or Population Health accreditation is preferred
  • Three to six years of hands-on Epic build and configuration experience in ambulatory or population health environments
  • At least two years supporting value-based care, ACO, or population health programs
  • Consulting, professional services, or multi-organization implementation experience is strongly preferred
  • Hands-on design, build, and testing experience with Healthy Planet, EpicCare Ambulatory, and ClinDoc
  • Experience configuring Express Lanes, SmartTools, flowsheets, questionnaires, and navigators
  • Knowledge of registries, health maintenance topics, care gaps, patient lists, BPAs, and Reporting Workbench
  • Ability to follow partner change-control, testing, and release procedures
  • Working knowledge of MSSP, ACO REACH, Medicare Advantage, and commercial value-based care models
  • Knowledge of MIPS/eCQM measures, HEDIS, Stars, HCC risk adjustment, and clinical documentation requirements
  • Understanding of front-office, clinical support, and provider workflows in independent and small-group primary care
  • Skills in consultative advising, solution packaging, training, technical documentation, project coordination, and executive presentations
  • Familiarity with HL7v2, C-CDA, FHIR, and ADT/lab feeds
  • Ability to interpret performance data and use SQL or equivalent query tools
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and secure handling of partner and patient data
  • Willingness to travel to partner sites as needed, estimated at up to 25%
