Entry-Level Civil OSP Design Specialist

Review telecommunications infrastructure designs for AECOM, checking quality, standards compliance, and accuracy. Coordinate design feedback and submissions with project teams and external stakeholders.

Description

  • Review civil OSP design packages for trenching, duct banks, manholes, handholes, and utility coordination.
  • Check designs against client templates and technical documentation.
  • Compare designs with local requirements and national standards, including NEC and NESC.
  • Flag missing or inconsistent details and give actionable feedback to CAD and design teams.
  • Support project managers with review cycles, comment logs, and submission deadlines.
  • Incorporate input from municipalities, permitting agencies, and other external stakeholders into design workflows.
  • Join internal meetings to align design intent with site conditions and construction needs.
  • Maintain quality control checklists for project deliverables.
  • Spot recurring design errors and help improve upstream processes.
  • Track workflow efficiency and reduce manual errors using Smartsheet, dashboards, and trackers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology field or a related discipline.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or comparable GIS or design software.
  • Experience in OSP design, telecommunications, or civil drafting or review.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Smartsheet.
  • Basic knowledge of civil OSP components, including conduit, cabling, and right-of-way.
  • US employment authorization sponsorship is unavailable now and in the future.
  • Attend an in-person first-day onboarding at an AECOM office.
