Description

  • Create and review varied assessment items across grade levels, including multiple-choice, technology-enhanced, extended-response, cluster-set, performance-based, and simulation formats for large-scale testing.
  • Contribute to item, passage, and test specifications, development plans, test blueprints, and related documentation.
  • Use AI tools to develop, review, and improve assessment content while meeting quality and accessibility standards.
  • Work with colleagues to incorporate AI-generated assets into assessment workflows and provide feedback grounded in content and educational expertise.
  • Help select, assign, manage, and train item and passage writers and educators using standards, cognitive complexity, and established development practices.
  • Lead and support customer meetings while providing assessment-content expertise.
  • Support test-construction activities and the review of assembled test forms.
  • Advise customers during planning, progress, and review meetings.
  • Collaborate with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and other Pearson teams.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, including AI, that affect educational content creation and assessment.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, a relevant content area, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Five years of elementary or secondary teaching experience in the relevant content area is preferred.
  • Professional knowledge of the relevant content area and current educational trends is required.
  • Experience with large-scale educational measurement is preferred.
  • General knowledge of the development, processing, scoring, and reporting stages of large-scale assessments is preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development, or clear potential and readiness to use AI effectively in content creation.
  • Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated educational content.
  • Proficiency with basic software and technology, along with confidence using unfamiliar programs.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning and adapting to evolving AI technologies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative, flexible approach to addressing challenges for varied audiences.
  • Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and adapt to unexpected changes.
  • Some travel is required.
