Description

  • Interpret and apply U.S. GAAP across revenue, leases, business combinations, share-based compensation, financing instruments, consolidation, and impairment.
  • Determine and document accounting conclusions for digital assets, token launches, staking, holdings, and other blockchain-based arrangements under ASC 350-60.
  • Prepare technical accounting memoranda and position papers covering complex transactions, new products, acquisitions, financing structures, and unusual events.
  • Track FASB, SEC, and PCAOB developments, evaluate their implications, and oversee adoption of new accounting standards.
  • Develop accounting policies and coordinate their implementation across relevant business functions.
  • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and drive resolution of complex technical accounting matters.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Treasury, Revenue, FP&A, and business leaders to assess the accounting impact of contracts, transactions, and strategic plans.
  • Contribute to acquisitions through purchase accounting, diligence support, and post-close integration.
  • Keep the accounting policy manual accurate and current.
  • Review internal controls and work with Internal Controls and SOX teams on control design and execution.
  • Communicate technical accounting conclusions to senior executives and the Audit Committee when appropriate.
  • Work with the Chief Accounting Officer and participate in industry groups, standard-setting activities, and peer-company discussions.
  • Coach and support the professional growth of accounting team members.
  • Help prepare SEC Form 10-K and 10-Q disclosures involving technical accounting topics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Active CPA license in good standing.
  • At least 12 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including substantial Big Four, national-firm, or industry technical accounting work.
  • Current, extensive U.S. GAAP expertise and a track record of researching and documenting complex accounting conclusions.
  • Strong knowledge of public-company SEC reporting or comparable reporting requirements for sophisticated stakeholders.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator who can explain complex accounting issues to non-accounting audiences.
  • Ability to independently organize competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Willingness to complete employment, education, criminal-record, identity, and other required background checks.
  • Preferred: experience accounting for digital assets or cryptocurrency, including ASC 350-60, token economics, DeFi, staking, and blockchain-native structures.
  • Preferred: public-company experience with direct external-auditor engagement.
  • Preferred: experience with acquisition and purchase accounting.
  • Preferred: experience implementing systems that affect accounting workflows, including ERP or revenue platforms.
  • Preferred: previous people-management or mentoring experience.
  • Preferred: experience in blockchain, Web3, or fintech.
