Digital Content Coordinator (Hybrid) – University of Alberta

Support the University of Alberta’s digital presence through web page management, CMS assistance, and responsive design. Improve university content through SEO, accessibility, performance, analytics, and user-focused practices.

Description

  • Handle requests for web updates and content changes.
  • Create and maintain responsive pages with HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap 5.
  • Work with designers, communications partners, and content contributors to improve content usability, SEO, and accessibility.
  • Create, revise, and redesign pages for university units to strengthen performance, responsiveness, and engagement.
  • Use CMS tools to schedule reviews and updates while maintaining accurate, timely content.
  • Contribute to major initiatives that enhance the university’s web environment.
  • Troubleshoot CMS issues and provide guidance through the user help desk.
  • Create and distribute CMS documentation, guidance, and best practices.
  • Review CMS user feedback and recommend improvements to the CMS and broader web environment.

Requirements

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in digital media, communications, marketing, web design, or a comparable field, or equivalent education.
  • At least two years of combined experience creating web pages, managing web content, applying SEO, and copyediting; post-secondary or government experience is preferred.
  • Practical experience building web pages and structuring websites with HTML and CSS.
  • Advanced proficiency with enterprise Content Management Systems.
  • Advanced understanding of responsive web design, SEO, and accessibility standards.
  • Intermediate proficiency with CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and other digital analytics or reporting platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace applications, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail.
  • Working knowledge of photo-editing tools for cropping and compressing images.
  • Ability to provide a resume and cover letter.
