Development and Communications Officer - Berlin Hybrid

Support OlamAid’s humanitarian fundraising and communications work through grant development, donor engagement, CRM management, reporting, and campaigns. This full-time hybrid role is based in Berlin.

Description

  • Research and evaluate funding opportunities, pursue suitable prospects, and track application deadlines.
  • Prepare grant proposals, concept notes, and reports in partnership with program and finance teams.
  • Develop donor relationships, coordinate donor communications, and help deliver fundraising events.
  • Produce tailored content for proposals, reports, CRM newsletters, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Manage the grants CRM, compile income reports, and apply fundraising data to inform activity.
  • Facilitate effective information sharing between program and communications teams.

Requirements

  • A university degree in international cooperation, humanitarian assistance, political or social sciences, communications, fundraising, business administration, or a comparable qualification.
  • At least three years of experience in fundraising, grant management, or donor relations, ideally within the nonprofit or humanitarian sector.
  • Practical knowledge of project cycle management, grant writing, and grant administration.
  • Strong knowledge of donor landscapes, compliance, monitoring and evaluation, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent German and English, with excellent copywriting and editing abilities for different audiences.
  • Hebrew language skills are an advantage.
  • Strategic, pragmatic approach with reliable deadline management, intercultural awareness, and sensitivity to communications and reputational risks.
  • Availability for occasional work-related travel.
