Data Engineer / Data Analyst - Austin, Onsite

NXP Semiconductors is seeking a data professional to improve semiconductor development workflows and compute utilization. The role builds AWS data pipelines for analytics, forecasting, reporting, and predictive systems.

Description

  • Support global design teams with EDA workflows for semiconductor chip development
  • Contribute to digital and analog EDA tools and automation initiatives that streamline chip development
  • Optimize semiconductor development processes and compute utilization across NXP
  • Collaborate with design teams, flow developers, IT, finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders
  • Build, automate, and maintain data pipelines on AWS
  • Provide data for operational analytics, opportunity assessments, forecasting, and prediction engines
  • Develop and operate big-data reporting pipelines from source systems through end users
  • Capture customer requirements and coordinate data analysis projects
  • Interpret complex data sources and present conclusions through clear, compelling data stories
  • Create maintainable solutions while safeguarding data quality

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience in a data engineering role
  • Experience developing and operating big-data reporting pipelines from source systems to end users
  • Ability to work with demanding customers and deliver solutions that anticipate their needs
  • Experience managing customer requirements and planning data analysis projects
  • Experience with cloud data platforms; AWS experience is preferred
  • Experience with AWS Athena, RDS, Glue, CloudFormation, Spark, Lambda, S3, EC2, and ECS
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or another business intelligence platform, preferably including automation
  • Experience with AI coding assistants and agentic AI workflow tools is a plus
  • Experience with open-source data engineering tools such as dbt and Dagster is desirable
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience cleaning and rationalizing data
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and present conclusions from complex data sources
  • Strong Python scripting skills; Pandas and Boto3 experience is desirable
  • Strong ownership of data quality with the ability to anticipate problems
  • Ability to build solutions designed for long-term maintainability
  • Familiarity with core software engineering practices, including configuration management, continuous integration, release management, and ticketing workflows
  • Semiconductor industry experience is a plus
  • Willingness to learn new tools and develop new skills
