Description

  • Manage full-cycle accounting and month-end close across client files
  • Review team output and ensure books are accurate, complete, and reconciled
  • Produce monthly management packages and budget-to-actual and forecast variance reports
  • Turn financial analysis into clear, practical recommendations
  • Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash-flow models
  • Build and maintain dashboards and KPI reporting
  • Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Lead ERP implementations, system cleanups, and finance process improvements
  • Find opportunities to automate accounting and reporting workflows
  • Oversee payroll, sales tax, and government and regulatory filings
  • Prepare year-end working papers and provide year-end support
  • Work with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors

Requirements

  • CPA designation is required
  • Substantial controllership and/or public accounting experience
  • Experience working with private, owner-managed, or growth-stage companies is preferred
  • Assurance experience with a public accounting firm is an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to build professional relationships with clients and colleagues through clear, effective communication
  • Exceptional accuracy and account-reconciliation skills
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage is a bonus
  • Construction-sector experience is a bonus
  • FP&A or financial-modelling experience is a bonus
