Contract Interior Designer – Chicago Hybrid
Design custom residential interiors for Chicago-area clients through Havenly’s platform. Manage concepts, floor plans, renderings, product sourcing, and client relationships across virtual and in-person engagements.
Description
- Meet with residential clients in the Chicago area virtually and in their homes to understand their style, needs, and budget
- Direct the design workflow from mood boards and concepts through floor plans and 3D renderings
- Select furniture and decor using Havenly’s platform
- Build lasting client relationships that encourage repeat and referral business
- Deliver thoughtful designs that address client needs and expectations
- Support clients through both virtual consultations and in-person meetings
Requirements
- A degree in Interior Design from an accredited program or university is preferred
- At least 3 years of experience working as an interior designer with your own in-person and/or virtual clients
- Professional industry presence with confident, knowledgeable, and clear communication
- Experience using online tools to create concept boards, 3D renderings, floor plans, presentations, and client communications
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or Canva is required
- Strong passion, initiative, and design knowledge focused on achieving excellent creative results
- Small-business mindset with the ability to advance projects and turn designs into sales
- Broad product knowledge spanning multiple vendors, categories, and price points
- Reliable transportation for travel to and from client meetings
- Personal computer equipped for video conferencing
- Current Photoshop license or Canva account
- Residence in the Chicago, Illinois area
- Personal computer running current macOS Big Sur or Windows 10 or 11
- Current authorization to work full time in the United States
