Community Fundraising Manager – Scotland

Lead community fundraising across Scotland for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, growing income, volunteer engagement, events and legacy giving. Build local partnerships while supporting donors and participants throughout their journeys.

Description

  • Achieve the region’s annual income target
  • Deliver established and new fundraising products
  • Organise and support fundraising events and activities across Scotland
  • Guide participants throughout their supporter journeys
  • Lead campaign and product-development project teams where appropriate
  • Build relationships with local businesses, groups, societies, faith organisations and event participants
  • Secure sponsorship for partnership dogs through fundraising products
  • Collaborate with Events, Individual Giving, Major Giving, corporate, trust and communications teams
  • Support local legacy conversations and promotional activity
  • Provide legacy awareness training and guidance to fundraising volunteers
  • Help increase legacy pledges and enquiries generated through community channels
  • Deliver regional legacy awareness events and campaigns
  • Recruit, train, develop, support and motivate community event volunteers and supporters
  • Build and maintain relationships across Hearing Dogs volunteer networks
  • Maintain local media and social media relationships to promote the Hearing Dogs brand
  • Represent the charity at volunteer and sector functions and events
  • Use platforms including Facebook and X to support fundraising and engagement
  • Operate digital event and online fundraising platforms
  • Track regional income and expenditure against budget
  • Report budget variances and put contingency plans into action
  • Keep donor, supporter and third-party records accurate in the charity database and GDPR compliant
  • Report activity, progress and results against financial and non-financial targets to the Head of Community Fundraising and Events

Requirements

  • Experience raising funds or equivalent experience in the voluntary or commercial sector
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft 365 applications
  • Knowledge of and experience using databases
  • Ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines and targets
  • Education to A Level standard or equivalent
  • A full current driving licence
  • Experience in the voluntary sector and fundraising is desirable
  • Knowledge of charity law and community fundraising is desirable
  • Knowledge of digital and direct marketing in fundraising is desirable
  • Experience speaking and presenting publicly is desirable
  • Understanding of and affinity with the challenges faced by deaf people and the disability market is desirable
  • A strong record of achievement in fundraising or sales is desirable
  • Successful applicants must undertake a DBS check
  • Disclosure of spent and unspent convictions, cautions, warnings, reprimands and relevant non-conviction information is required
