Commercial Credit Analyst (Hybrid, Illinois)

Underwrite and monitor a commercial loan portfolio by analyzing borrower financials, cash flow, covenants, risk grades, and credit documentation.

Description

  • Support underwriting and monitoring activities for the commercial loan portfolio
  • Analyze business and personal financial statements, tax returns, aging reports, inventory records, and third-party appraisals
  • Calculate cash flow using approved software and financial models
  • Evaluate financial condition, industry performance, and market trends
  • Perform credit investigations and assess loan-related credit information
  • Research available credit and financial information sources
  • Complete annual loan reviews, assign risk grades, and prepare problem loan reports
  • Gather financial data and conduct covenant monitoring and testing
  • Maintain credit files with required documentation, updated financial statements, and agency reports
  • Identify and report loan covenant non-compliance
  • Research industries and contribute to assigned special projects

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Three to five years of comparable or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or an industry-recognized certification equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills with careful attention to detail
  • Ability to work and travel among credit union locations as directed by management
