Claims Representative, Auto Property Damage – Remote (United States)

Sedgwick is seeking a Claims Representative to handle auto and property damage claims in its insurance operations. The role covers damage assessment, settlement negotiation, claim resolution, and subrogation.

Description

  • Review and process auto and general liability property damage claims
  • Evaluate damage, issue payments, and maintain accurately documented and policy-coded claim files
  • Create and manage action plans that meet state contract deadlines and advance claims toward timely, appropriate resolution
  • Find and pursue subrogation opportunities
  • Manage salvage recovery and disposal
  • Explain claim actions and processing status to insureds, clients, and agents or brokers as appropriate
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients
  • Conduct coverage, liability, and damage reviews for assigned claims
  • Contribute to organizational quality initiatives
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Travel when required

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
  • Obtain and retain the state adjusting licenses required for the role
  • Working knowledge of personal and commercial lines policies and endorsements
  • Ability to evaluate property damage estimates, total-loss assessments, and related costs to negotiate first- and third-party claims effectively
  • Knowledge of total-loss processing, state salvage forms, and title requirements is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation ability
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and interpretive capabilities
  • Well-developed organizational skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate in a team setting
  • Ability to meet or exceed service expectations
  • Ability to perform computer keyboarding tasks
  • Ability to hear, see, and speak
