Claims Executive, Cruise and Ferry P&I
Manage P&I claims for Steamship Mutual’s Cruise & Ferry Syndicate, supporting members across North America and Europe. The role covers claim resolution, member service, loss prevention, and maritime insurance expertise.
Description
- Oversee a portfolio of P&I claims for the Cruise & Ferry Syndicate.
- Provide members with timely, commercially minded support.
- Investigate, handle, and resolve P&I claims.
- Coordinate with members, correspondents, lawyers, surveyors, and other stakeholders.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with members.
- Deliver responsive, high-quality service and support.
- Spot and share loss prevention opportunities and emerging claims patterns.
- Keep electronic claim files and correspondence accurate and current.
- Help improve claims processes, systems, and working practices.
- Assist with articles, technical updates, member communications, and Club publications.
- Build and maintain expertise in P&I insurance, maritime law, and the cruise and ferry sector.
- Take on other duties and projects relevant to the role.
Requirements
- Experience handling personal injury matters in a P&I Club, marine insurer, law firm, shipowner, or comparable maritime setting.
- A degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Able to establish and maintain effective relationships with members and colleagues.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Well organised and proactive.
- Able to manage and prioritise a varied workload.
- Works effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Contributes positively to a small team.
