Business Analyst – Digital Technology Delivery (Hybrid, Canada)

Support EDC’s digital technology delivery and export finance mission as a Business Analyst. Elicit requirements, validate AI-assisted insights, and coordinate Agile solution delivery.

Description

  • Translate business needs into structured requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Ensure requirements are complete, testable, and aligned with business goals and technology constraints
  • Evaluate proposed-solution impacts across applications, business processes, and data integrity
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and integration considerations
  • Validate analytical outputs, requirements, proposed solutions, and AI-assisted insights
  • Surface gaps, inconsistencies, and risks, then coordinate resolution with stakeholders and delivery teams
  • Explain complex or conflicting issues clearly to stakeholders
  • Facilitate shared understanding, timely decisions, negotiation, and alignment on competing priorities
  • Create and maintain documentation for validation, traceability, and delivery
  • Triage defects, conduct root cause analysis, and verify solutions
  • Prepare UAT scenarios, support users during execution, resolve functional issues, and conduct functional testing
  • Create Proof of Test (POT) documentation
  • Define business problems and decision questions for analysis, including AI-supported exploration
  • Translate analytical findings into business implications and decision options
  • Support governance through business-rule validation and exception analysis
  • Partner with product owners, delivery teams, stakeholders, and the Business Analysis community
  • Share knowledge, strengthen practices, and advance consistency and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 5 years of experience at Level 17 or 7 years at Level 18 in business analysis within a technology delivery environment
  • Extensive experience eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, including Agile user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Experience supporting full solution delivery, including backlog refinement, defect triage, root cause analysis, and user acceptance testing
  • Experience evaluating impacts across systems, business processes, and data
  • Experience validating requirements, analytical outputs, and solutions for accuracy, completeness, business-rule compliance, and data integrity
  • Experience with digital delivery platforms and modern analytics tools involving data, automation, and AI-assisted insights
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, lead discussions, and establish stakeholder alignment
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities across business and technology teams
  • Ability to develop and sustain collaborative cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and impacts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience integrating enterprise and cloud platforms through REST APIs, managing versioned APIs, and using authentication such as OAuth
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and changing environments
  • Understanding of business rules, controls, and risk-sensitive environments
  • French-English bilingualism is an asset
  • Experience with AI-assisted analysis or advanced analytics tools is an asset
  • Exposure to platform-based or enterprise systems is an asset
  • Familiarity with governance, compliance, or risk-management contexts is an asset
  • Ability to work legally in Canada when applying; Canadian citizenship or permanent residence is preferred
  • Ability to satisfy government security-screening requirements
