Backend Engineer Intern
Build production financial features for Qonto’s SME finance platform while learning Go and Ruby in an autonomous backend squad with senior engineers.
Description
- Build and release financial features, including card authorization, transfers, onboarding, and payment gateway functionality.
- Take part in daily meetings and recurring team routines.
- Read, write, and review production code in Go and Ruby.
- Use AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Copilot.
- Join product discussions with Technology, Product, and Design.
- Help shape the direction of assigned features.
- Work in a backend squad that owns its product scope end to end.
- Collaborate with Product and Design.
- Apply upfront technical design, team reviews, smart slicing, Kaizen, and PDCA practices.
Requirements
- This is an end-of-studies internship.
- Candidates with strong potential are welcome at any experience level.
- Have basic coding knowledge in any programming language.
- Have basic SQL knowledge.
- Use AI tools to build, debug, and learn more quickly.
- Be comfortable working in English.
- Be eager to learn and comfortable navigating complexity.
