Assistant Controller, Remote in Mexico — IEC Holden

Manage financial close, accounts receivable, tax compliance, cash reporting, and forecasting from Mexico. Improve finance operations through automation, AI, and process optimization.

Description

  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records, the close process, and accounts receivable operations
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax obligations, and regulatory requirements
  • Enhance accounting and accounts receivable workflows through automation, AI, and process improvement
  • Complete the month-end close within three business days
  • Keep financial statements and balance-sheet accounts accurate and fully supported
  • Prepare required tax filings and remittances accurately and on schedule
  • Keep past-due accounts receivable below 10% and review aging each month
  • Manage customer invoicing, including invoices and credit notes
  • Record and apply customer payments while reconciling unapplied cash, deductions, and short payments
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding differences
  • Provide cash and short-term liquidity reporting
  • Proactively identify material cash or balance-sheet risks
  • Deliver at least three measurable process improvements or automations during the first 12 months
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the Controller and business leaders
  • Provide dependable financial information, working-capital management, and accurate sales forecasts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • At least five years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong command of accounting principles and practices
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • CPA designation is an asset
  • Knowledge of financial accuracy, close quality, and internal controls
  • Ability to detect risks and inconsistencies, determine root causes, and implement durable solutions
  • A controls-focused and compliance-oriented approach
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, automation, and AI capabilities
  • Ability to improve processes and deliver consistently in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
  • Ability to build effective relationships across Finance, Operations, IT, and other stakeholder groups
  • Ability to communicate financial information, risks, and issues clearly to finance and non-finance audiences
