Android Software Engineer, Level 5 - Los Angeles Hybrid

Build scalable Android experiences at Snap Inc. by developing features, reviewing code, and applying AI-assisted engineering practices. Collaborate across design and infrastructure to deliver secure, high-quality mobile products.

Description

  • Maximize mobile-device capabilities while creating polished user experiences
  • Build smooth, stable, engaging Android products
  • Take features from design through implementation and launch
  • Assess technical tradeoffs and partner with design on UI and infrastructure practices
  • Review code to maintain strong quality standards
  • Apply AI tools and rapid engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services
  • Maintain rigorous standards for correctness, security, and production readiness
  • Support features throughout design, implementation, and launch

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 6 years of post-bachelor’s software development experience, or the stated equivalent combination of a relevant master’s or doctoral degree and postgraduate experience
  • Professional experience developing Android applications
  • Strong Kotlin and Android expertise is preferred
  • Experience with Kotlin, Java, RxJava, Dagger, and related development tools
  • Proficiency with AI tools and the ability to assess generated code for architectural integrity, performance, and security
  • Ability to learn and apply evolving AI systems and tools
  • Willingness to work in an office at least four days per week
  • Relevant practical experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree
