Accounting Advisory Manager, Gaming and Hospitality

Lead accounting advisory engagements for gaming and hospitality clients, providing technical accounting, financial operations, and process improvement consulting. Support casino, resort, hotel, and other hospitality operators with controls, reporting, and performance initiatives.

Description

  • Provide financial consulting services to gaming and hospitality clients
  • Deliver technical accounting guidance and accounting support for business operations
  • Assess business processes and internal control environments
  • Execute advisory projects covering organizational structure, profit enhancement, cash management, and profitability analysis
  • Document process improvements, policies, and procedures
  • Deliver responsive, high-quality service to clients
  • Coordinate consulting work plans and client deliverables from development through execution
  • Build knowledge of clients’ businesses, industries, performance drivers, trends, and developments
  • Serve on engagement teams as the in-charge and go-live lead
  • Support fieldwork by tracking productivity and adherence to work-plan schedules
  • Resolve client and adoption challenges
  • Help complete client deliverables
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance
  • Coordinate integrated service delivery across RSM service lines
  • Advise management of opportunities to expand client services

Requirements

  • At least five years of business experience or five years in public accounting or consulting services
  • Advanced written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong internal control expertise, including experience developing and improving control systems
  • Strong technical and functional accounting experience with US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Experience with financial reporting, hands-on technical accounting support and research, adjusting journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff across projects of varying sizes
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with business associates and industry groups
  • Strong presentation, communication, and rapport-building skills
  • Willingness to travel approximately 75–80%
  • Preferred experience in accounting and finance optimization, audit readiness, complex accounting analysis, accounting standard implementation, financial automation technologies, and consulting services for similar industries
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in accounting or related work experience
  • Preferred ability and interpersonal approach to diffuse difficult customer situations
  • Preferred ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and mentor junior staff
  • CPA strongly preferred or related work experience
