3rd Shift Line Operator - Ontario, CA | Ventura Foods

Operate filling and packaging equipment on the third shift for Ventura Foods’ foodservice and retail products. Support production quality, sanitation, safety, equipment performance, and line coordination.

Description

  • Transfer quality product safely from the facility’s mixing and distribution system into customer-specified packaging
  • Run filling and packaging equipment according to production requirements
  • Coordinate production-line activities with other employees under Supervisor or Foreman direction
  • Fill containers to customer specifications for weight, bottle coding, labels, and case coding
  • Complete trained light equipment maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, timing, and sequencing
  • Perform autonomous maintenance after training and care for assigned equipment
  • Train line-support employees on the full operation of the production line
  • Set up and assemble the line for scheduled production runs, then shut down equipment as directed
  • Record production output and accurately tag losses in Informance
  • Communicate with and complete shift handoffs for incoming operators
  • Maintain operational sanitation and carry out assigned sanitation activities
  • Conduct quality checks on lids, bag closures, wrapping, weights, codes, and cases
  • Verify that Ventura Foods process parameters are followed
  • Promote workplace safety by reporting near misses and unsafe conditions or behaviors
  • Follow food-safety policies and procedures, including SQF code, GMPs, FSMA, and related preventive controls
  • Complete other assigned duties

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and provide leadership to others
  • Sound judgment
  • Knowledge of electrical systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license or certification
  • Physical strength and dexterity to complete required tasks
  • Ability to intermittently sit, stand, walk, climb, squat, kneel, push, and pull
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance
  • Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment
  • Availability for typical 8–12-hour shifts, additional unscheduled hours, and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work around temperature extremes, vibration, operational chemicals, fumes, food allergens, confined or dark spaces, and heights above 18 feet
