Senior Data Engineer — MODEC (Hybrid, Brazil)
Lead data pipelines, governance, and data preparation for AI and analytics at MODEC. The company operates offshore platforms and deepwater production systems.

- Set technical standards, architectural guidance, and pipeline best practices while mentoring developing team members.
- Manage, maintain, and scale pipelines supplying historical and real-time data to analytics models.
- Build observability, prevention, and alerting capabilities to maintain service levels.
- Develop data governance across policies, processes, contracts, classification, security, metadata, quality, lineage, and access.
- Implement and manage an enterprise data catalog and business glossary.
- Maintain an enterprise ontology that standardizes entities, events, and relationships.
- Prepare dependable, versioned, documented data for large-scale AI and analytics, including feature stores, model-ready tables, quality and drift monitoring, and MLOps or LLMOps practices.
- Evaluate data quality, determine root causes, and deliver lasting corrective measures.
- Design and build integrations for structured and unstructured data sources.
- Design and operate scalable, secure databases for analytical and operational applications.
- Work with Data Scientists and Data Analysts to move data flows from development into production.
- Promote engineering practices, adopt new technologies, and deliver solutions for the oil and gas industry.
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Big Data platforms such as Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig, or comparable technologies.
- Experience with cloud services; AWS experience with S3, Athena, and EC2 is advantageous.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, or comparable reporting and business intelligence tools.
- Experience using SQL, PL/SQL, or similar languages.
- Professional experience with Python.
- Proven technical leadership in data teams, including engineering standards and team mentoring.
- Knowledge of agile software development and performance measurement tools.
- Advanced or fluent English proficiency.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
