  • Present crop protection, crop nutrient, seed, and related service offerings directly to farmers, ranchers, and other producers
  • Build supplier relationships while advising on supply economics and regional strategies
  • Forecast monthly and annual supply needs
  • Manage profit and loss for an assigned territory
  • Grow sales and margins through new-customer prospecting and sales program execution
  • Develop lasting relationships with suppliers, customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Prepare sales presentations, contracts, and proposals
  • Design and implement sales and marketing strategies
  • Partner with other CHS divisions to expand the CHS enterprise
  • Cross-sell product lines and increase customer share of wallet
  • Use the CHS sales cycle to deliver consulting services
  • Influence effective product placement
  • Lead initiatives supporting organizational change
  • Adopt and integrate new technologies to advance innovation

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least four years of experience in sales, business development, business operations, or a related area
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to develop precise fertilizer and chemical applications
  • Proactive approach to sales and customer service
  • Outside sales experience with presentations, persuasive negotiation, customer service, conflict resolution, and independent work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings, which may include drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical, and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks
  • Agronomy sales experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business, or a related field preferred
