Mechanical Design Manager, Data Center Construction
Lead mechanical and electrical design for Turner & Townsend data center projects, guiding consultants and coordinating procurement, project documentation, and delivery. The role spans major construction programs from design through closeout.

- Report to assigned project managers or project directors and provide project updates.
- Work closely with the owner or client, consultants, design professionals, and contractors.
- Help manage and coordinate projects through each phase of design and construction.
- Provide technical guidance on concurrently maintainable electrical power and mechanical systems.
- Prepare project reports, schedules, invoices, RFIs, submittals, meeting materials, daily reports, change orders, inspection records, closeout documents, and client presentations.
- Keep project records current in project management software.
- Organize and coordinate project team meetings.
- Explain conceptual designs and maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
- Maintain mechanical design standards, basis of design updates, OFCI equipment specifications, prototype designs, and template specifications.
- Review design RFPs and help define scopes for mechanical engineering services.
- Oversee external design consultants throughout design and construction.
- Deliver mechanical contract documents on schedule, within budget, and in line with company standards.
- Share design standards with internal and external partners, including engineering and operations teams.
- Lead technical work across electrical and mechanical design activities on multiple fast-paced projects.
- Find cost-saving solutions that preserve quality, reliability, and energy efficiency.
- Support procurement by reviewing vendor submittals, witnessing factory tests, and evaluating OFCI equipment.
- Identify and implement technologies that improve energy efficiency, system resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
- Apply industry advances and best practices to improve operations and project outcomes.
- Communicate and uphold engineering and design policies across the organization.
- Follow applicable SOX controls.

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a construction-related field.
- Project management experience on large-scale construction programs, including data center or mission-critical facilities.
- Experience leading mechanical design and engineering.
- At least eight years of relevant project management experience in the construction industry.
- Experience managing client accounts.
- Experience managing teams of project managers and support staff.
- Relevant consulting experience.
- Strong knowledge of the local construction market.
- Strong understanding of the construction project lifecycle.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal, client, and cross-functional teams.
- Business development experience with existing and new clients, including cross-selling.
- Relevant technical and leadership experience overseeing major construction projects or programs.
- Excellent presentation, verbal, written, organizational, and communication skills.
