Data Engineer, DevOps (Hybrid)
Build and operate data workflows with Python, Airflow, Oracle, and Rancher. Manage version control, pipelines, and controlled releases across environments.

- Develop modular Python processes with clear separation of functions, packages, and configuration.
- Build and maintain Apache Airflow 3 DAGs, including dependencies, retries, alerts, and failure handling.
- Write advanced SQL and Oracle queries to support data processes.
- Manage code in Git through branches, pull requests, and reviews before promotion.
- Track work in the DevOps platform and move changes through development, staging, and production pipelines.
- Run workloads in Rancher by managing deployments, variables, secrets, logs, and controlled restarts.
- Diagnose failures using Airflow logs, Oracle queries, and container status.
- Document process purposes, data sources and destinations, execution windows, and owners.

- Experience writing well-organized Python using modules, packages, and reusable functions.
- Practical experience building and operating Apache Airflow DAGs; Airflow 2 experience is also considered.
- Strong advanced SQL skills, including writing Oracle queries.
- Experience using Git and a DevOps platform across the development workflow, including activity tracking, branching, pull requests, code reviews, and pipelines.
- Experience working across separate development, staging, and production environments.
- Experience with Rancher or Kubernetes in an on-premises environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including finding the root cause of failures, analyzing logs, and implementing fixes without making direct production changes.
- Preferred: production experience with Apache Airflow 3; CI/CD pipelines for DAGs and Python packages; Oracle performance and execution plans; Docker images in a Rancher context; alert setup; troubleshooting processes with encapsulated code; formal change control in an on-premises environment; Linux and shell scripting.
